Joint mobilisation and other alternative treatment approaches

Have you thought about trying an alternative approach that may offer relief from pain in your feet? Contact Mark Foster Podiatry today to find out more.

Effective alternative methods for pain relief

At Mark Foster Podiatry, in addition to regular treatments, we believe in following alternative approaches to help patients deal with the pain in their joints, feet, knees or ankles. Sometimes these alternatives methods are used in conjunction with biomechanical examinations. Some of the methods we follow include:
  • Bowen therapy
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Podiatric acupuncture

Bowen therapy

Mark has acquired in-depth knowledge on joint mobilisation and trigger point techniques while he was in Australia, under the tutelage of Dr Paul Conneely. Mark was also introduced to Bowen Therapy, this is a holistic, effective and safe treatment method that requires no special equipment and can be performed on the patient lightly without the removal of clothes. Feel free to get in touch with Mark, or you can visit this page for additional information: www.thebowentechnique.com
joint treatments

Joint mobilisation

This method is effective for a host of foot problems and is included as part of biomechanical assessments, depending on its relevancy and the effect it has on the function of the foot, and how it affects the symptoms that the patient is showing. It is highly effective in the treatment of ankle pain/dysfunction, midfoot and toe pain. Our Podiatry/Chiropody services are available for clients throughout Birmingham, Bromsgrove and Droitwich.
Podiatric acupuncture:

This alternative treatment method is particularly effective in reducing pain in the lower limb. Mark is fully insured by the Society of Podiatrists and Chiropodists to perform this treatment. This therapy is also used in and as part of Biomechanical examinations, especially for dry needling of myofascial trigger points. Upon completion, this treatment will reduce pain and restore function among the targeted muscle groups.
